David Brown

David T. Brown, currently serves as principal tubist in The United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own,“ in Washington, D.C. He joined "Pershing's Own" in 1995 after completing a Master of Music degree at Indiana University, where he served as Associate Instructor of Tuba, and was awarded the prestigious "Performer's Certificate." During Brown's tenure at "Pershing's Own" he has performed regularly with all the band's ensembles and frequently been featured as a soloist. Additionally, he currently performs as Solo Tubist with the Washington Symphonic Brass and Capital Brassworks, and as principal tubist in the Alexandria Symphony.

As a leading freelance tubist in the Washington D.C. area, he has performed with the National Symphony, Kennedy Center Opera Orchestra, and the Baltimore Symphony. He also serves as a consultant to area high school bands and leads music at a local church. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tennessee and his teachers include Dan Perantoni, Harvey G. Phillips, and R. Winston Morris. He currently resides in Virginia with his wife Jennifer, and their children Jessica and Taylor.
